Staff and trustee recruitment for charities.
No appointment, no fee. One dedicated recruiter handles every search, and you work with him directly throughout.
What we recruit for
Good Cause Work recruits for UK charities, community groups and social enterprises. Every search works to a brief you agree with us before it starts.
- Paid staff roles, permanent.
- Volunteer trustee and chair appointments.
- Exclusive or non-exclusive — the fee terms are the same either way.
How a search works
Agree the brief
We put the role, the requirements a candidate must meet, the pay and the timing in writing. That brief is what every introduction is measured against.
Search and qualify
Rob sources candidates and qualifies them against the brief, and asks each one to confirm that they are interested in the role and available to take it.
Introductions
You receive the candidates who meet the brief, with Rob’s assessment of each. You decide who to interview. There is nothing to pay at this stage.
Appointment
You interview and decide. Our fee falls due only when the person we introduced starts work or takes up their trustee appointment.
Who does what
Rob McInnes is your dedicated recruiter: he personally handles every employee and trustee search, and you work with him directly from the brief through to appointment.
- Rob runs the search itself — sourcing, qualifying and assessing every candidate.
- You are never passed between account handlers, and you are not asked to chase candidates yourself.
- Good Cause Work agrees the brief and the fee with you in writing before the search starts.
Good Cause Work recruitment — no appointment, no fee.
There is no upfront charge and no shortlist charge, whether the search is exclusive or non-exclusive. Payment falls due only when a candidate we introduce starts work or takes up their trustee appointment.
- Nothing is payable while a search is running, and nothing is payable if no appointment is made.
- Employee fees are charged on actual annual basic salary, so a part-time role is charged on what it actually pays rather than a full-time equivalent.
- Trustee fees are charged per appointment. The categories do not stack: one appointment is charged once, at the category that applies to it.
- We are not VAT registered, so there is no VAT to add to our fees. If we become VAT registered, VAT will be charged in addition to the fees and we will tell you before it applies.
- The fee that applies to your search is agreed with you in writing before the search starts.
We send the fee schedule with a written quote for your search, before the search starts. Ask us for it and we will set out what your appointment would cost.
We do not promise that a search will result in an appointment. The terms that apply to your search are the ones in its written agreement.
