Recruiting through CauseWork
Basic role listings are free. Here is how posting works, from creating an account to placing a volunteer.
Launch statusCauseWork is coming soon and is not ready to use yet. The pages currently available are a preview; accounts, posting, applications and messaging will open at launch.
How posting works
- Create an account with your organisation email, then create your organisation or ask to join one that already exists.
- Complete the organisation profile: type, regulator number, location, size, income band, objectives and causes. It is checked against the criteria, with a two-working-day target.
- Post a role in four steps: about the role, about the person, when and where, and how to apply. Save a draft at any point, or duplicate a previous role.
- The role is checked against the criteria, again with a two-working-day target. If something needs changing you are told what and why.
- The role goes live in search, in the sitemap and in the partner feed, until its closing date or until you pause or close it.
- Applicants and questions will arrive in your dashboard. You message them here, then mark each one placed or declined so the record is complete.
What it costs
- Basic role listings and applying for roles will always be free.
- CauseWork may charge for optional services that cost more to provide, such as identity verification, enhanced vetting, promotion or recruitment support. Any fee will be shown before purchase.
Moving from Reach Volunteering
- Roles that are live on Reach will be re-postable here as soon as accounts open, before Reach stops accepting new roles. The role types, skills and causes use the same names, so the text copies straight across.
- Reach stops accepting new roles on 29 September 2026, pauses all live roles on 27 October, closes messaging on 10 November and goes read-only on 24 November.
- The search vocabulary here is Reach's, reproduced so volunteers who searched there find the same filters here.
